Very good book to read as an introduction to the underpinning of sports science. Part 2 is an interesting read around the political and economic aspects of sport policy and structure. Part 3 is excellent for those still unsure of how to use their new skills and qualification
A very good text containing excellent detail over a variety of social concepts. Particular areas highly related to my students work are the impact of media on sports participation in certain groups including women, ethnic minorities and social class. There are lots of issues highlighted for debate and discussion on ethics, fairplay and its relevence in modern day sport and the Paralympics debate on integration and segregation of athletes.
