This is a great updated addition of a well-used text. Each section refers to national curriculum requirements, supports subject knowledge development and is underpinned by theory. Good reference is made to current debates and it highlights the need to teach grammar, punctuation and spelling in meaningful contexts.
This is an engagingly written book that takes the dry topics of grammar, punctuation and spelling and makes them interesting through exemplification and storytelling. Very useful for teachers wanting to brush up on their skills in this area, and also good for inspiring engaging teaching around these topics.
This is an excellent core text for our ITE students as it explains the theory behind language acquisition and gives high quality examples of how to teach grammar, punctuation and spelling effectively. Not many texts can be relied on this fully!
