From Problem to Analysis
- Jacques Tacq - Catholic University of Brussels
February 1997 | 432 pages | SAGE Publications Ltd
Unlike most statistical texts, this book breathes real life into multivariate analysis. Starting with a range of actual research examples in the social sciences, it demonstrates how to make the most appropriate choice of technique. The examples are drawn from a broad spectrum of disciplines including: sociology, psychology, economics, political science and international comparative research.
PART ONE: FROM THEORY TO METHODOLOGY
Types of Research Problems and Research Situations
A Classification of Classical Techniques of Multivariate Analysis
The Analysis Technique as the Mirror of the Research Problem
PART TWO: FROM METHODOLOGY TO ANALYSIS
The Experimental Design
Multiple Regression Analysis
Partial Correlation and Path Analysis
Analysis of Variance and Covariance
Two-Group Discriminant Analysis
Factor Analysis
Canonical Correlation Analysis
Techniques with Multiple Dependent Variables
Multivariate Analysis Techniques in Social Science Research (J. Tacq) is an excellent textbook for a course "Multidimentional Analysis". All methods are presented very clearly and in detail manner. Very good exapmles are the most valuable parts of all chapters.
