I recommended this book as supplemental reading for all aspects of the course. It contains supporting information that may be of use throughout the course for various modules.
A good general text exploring some key issues surrounding learning through the different areas of the early years. It considers the 3-7 age range and whilst it would be useful to extend this to look at the 0-3 year olds, it provides a good focus and the opportunity to review the transition from the EYFS to KS1.
One of the key texts for PGCE Early Years students who do not have any background in working in the Early Years Foundation Stage. It is well liked by the students and they make frequent reference to it in session discussions.
